The First Choir Performance

Last night's Christmas choir performance--the kids' first--was a great time for all, choir class, home school style. Over a thousand people were in attendance, packing out the local high school gymnasium. The adult choir was the main attraction, but the kids also performed five of their numbers. They'll do their entire line up of songs at the next two performances, which aren't combined with the adult choir.

The booming sound; the hot spot lights; the festive, elegant attire; the glitter hair spray; it was a dream come true for Elli, a little girl who loves the stage. Tano was the M.C. of sorts for the kids choir and did a marvelous job with a clear, strong voice and a confident manner. Elli had a small speaking part, too, which she recited with clarity and enthusiasm.

We arrived early for sound checks and then stayed late to clean up and tear down. The kids are wiped out, still sound asleep. They can stay there a bit longer.

I snapped some photos of the kids together before we left the house, and then got some pics of Elli during the sound checks. Enjoy.

Yes, good, but how's your heart? Any luck with the de-stressing?

(my word verification is an actual word - "trays")

It looks like they really enjoyed being in the kids choir. It sounds like it was quite an experience for them to be in.I love the picture of them in front of the fireplace. The only thing is,Ellie and her makeup has her look far to grown up for how old she is.She is going to grow up far too fast as it is.Love you.Tano and Ellie,I am so glad you enjoyed your participation in the choir.

Auntie D,

Elli is only wearing makeup because it was required so the kids didn't look washed out under the harsh spotlights. They were all asked to wear lipstick and blush--stage makeup. We don't normally allow it--don't worry.
